FIDESZ WON IN AUGUST

The uninterrupted summer holidays, the recovery of the economy and the impact of the child protection referendum have also played a role in that Fidesz has become the political winner of the summer season. In the intensifying political competition, the proportion of uncertain voters decreased, but the advantage of the ruling party was 3 percentage points within the total population and 6 percentage points in the most probable list result.

Fidesz was also able to maintain its substantial advantage over the left during the last summer before the parliamentary elections. The Prime Minister’s announcement about the PIT reimbursement for families linked to economic growth, uninterrupted holidays due to the success of the vaccination programme and the child protection referendum which turned the election campaign into a battle of worldviews can all explain Fidesz’s lead and the decrease within the camp of uncertain voters and government critics.
