Current political adherences have leveled off

Based on our public opinion poll conducted by telephone between January 24-26, 2015 with a representative sample of 1000 respondents, the erosion of support for Fidesz-KDNP has stopped and currently, the government parties’ approval rating is at 26 percent among the total population. This level of support corresponds to the December 2014 data. Based on our research, it seems as if current political adherences have leveled off.

Based on our survey of party preferences, it seems as if current political adherences have leveled off. The erosion of support for Fidesz-KDNP has stopped and currently, the government parties’ approval rating is at 26 percent among the total population. This level of support corresponds to the December 2014 data. MSZP’s support is measured at 10 percent (this also does not indicate a notable increase, compared to the previously recorded 7 percent in December), the Democratic Coalition’s support is at 5 percent, while Together’s is 1 percent. LMP was recorded at 6 percent, while Jobbik showed a 17-percent support level among the total population, which also corresponds to the numbers that the polls indicated at the end of December. The total percentage of hiding voters and non-voters is at 33 percent, the percentage of hiding voters against the cabinet is at 6 percent.

Based on potential party preferences, Fidesz-KDNP is at 40 percent, MSZP is at 12 percent, DK is at 6 percent, Együtt is at 4 percent, LMP is at 8 percent, while Jobbik is at 27 percent.

Methodology

The public opinion poll was conducted by telephone between January 24-26, 2015 with a sample of 1000 respondents. This is a representative sample of the population aged 18 years and older, classified by gender, age, region, residential settlement type and schooling completed. In case of a 1000 people sample such as this, the maximum margin of error is 3,2 percent.
