A XXI. század globalizált világában a migráció valódi lehetőségként merül fel milliók számára. Ezen tömegek biztonság, jólét, vagy pusztán egy jobb életet keresnek már nemcsak azon kontinenseken, ahonnan származnak, hanem a világ más régióiban.

A 2014-ben kezdődött migrációs válság óta hosszú vita folyik az Európai Unióban a migrációról. Vajon a migráció támogatandó vagy éppen megelőzendő jelenség? Vajon hasznos maguk a migránsok és a célországaik számára? Vajon az EU mint közösség hajlandó és képes a migráció kezelésére vagy a nemzeti szint tud inkább választ találni a kihívásra? Az Unió vagy a tagállami szint az, ahol döntéseknek és tetteknek kell születniük?

A Nemzeti Polgári Vitacsoportunknak hármas célja van:

• Párbeszédet kezdeményezni a migrációról általában és az Európai Unió szempontjából.
• Rávilágítani az EU migrációval kapcsolatos legfontosabb eredményeire és hibáira.
• A résztvevő uniós állampolgárok fenti párbeszédének eredményeként ajánlásokat megfogalmazni az Európa jövőjéről szóló konferencia számára.

Az Európa jövőjéről szóló konferencia egyedülálló és időszerű lehetőséget kínál az európai polgárok számára az Európa előtt álló kihívások és kiemelt feladatok megvitatásához

In the globalized World of the 21^st Century migration became an option for millions of people. These masses seek security, welfare, and a better life in general not only on those continents where they were born but in other regions of the Globe.

There has been a long debate within the European Union on migration since the latest migration crisis broke out in 2014. Is migration a phenomenon that should be supported or is it something that needs to be prevented? Is it beneficial for the migrants themselves or their targeted countries? Is the EU as a community willing and able to handle migration or is it the national level that can step up to the challenge? Or is it the EU- or the member states-level where decisions and actions should be taken?

The purpose of this National Citizens’ Panel is threefold.

• To open a debate on migration in general and from the European Union’s perspective.
• To direct our attention to the achievements and failures of the EU in relation to migration.
• To put recommendations from the participating EU-citizens on the table of the Conference on the Future of Europe in the light of the debate.

What is the Conference on the Future of Europe?

The Conference on the Future of Europe is a unique and timely opportunity for European citizens to debate on Europe’s challenges and priorities.

National Citizens’ Panels constitute one of the components of the Conference, whose conclusions will feed the European-level debate. Come and make your voice heard!
